And now for something completely different...Bubble Soccer!

We are really living in the age of ultimate entertainment, so if you are looking for something sporty, physical and silly I suggest Bubble Soccer!

As a party planner, I’m always on the lookout for the newest trends.  Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new comes out. Currently in the kid's party world you can have everything from Wipeout-style giant balls (which I call whiplash balls) to a 50 foot zip line at your event.

Now, if you haven’t heard of Bubble Soccer, don’t be hard on yourself. It’s not quite as common as paintball or trampoline parks - Yet!

Bubble Soccer is simply one of the most enjoyable sports I’ve ever watched.  Basically, players don giant bubbles and play soccer.  It’s like sumo wrestling and zorbs rolled into one.  Possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.  The bubble is worn like a backpack.  Your head is actually inside the bubble and your feet stick out the bottom.  Players bounce off one another while running after the ball.  The best part is, no matter how physical the game becomes the players are protected by a giant air bubble.  This leads to very physical play and results in amazing sights, like players doing complete somersaults without breaking stride.  It’s as much fun to watch as it is to play.  The laughter on the field is matched by that on the sidelines as they watch players careening off one another like ping pong balls in a lottery machine.

To bring you a bit more information about this hysterical sport, I turn to Jared and Rona from Silicon Valley Bubble Soccer.  I engaged their company for a corporate party this Summer and they were fabulous.  They are super friendly, totally professional, and a blast to be around.  They maintain order on the field, while letting people have the time of their lives.

Do people really play seriously?  Or do they just end up rolling around and laughing?

At the majority of events players are playing for fun. Players are rolling around, bumping into other players and being bumped. This is all done with a slight edge of competition. Some venues do take Bubble Soccer up a notch and hold a bracket-style tournament. This is where the game gets serious. But it is still a fun and enjoyable game.
