Using just a few recycled materials you can create your own "out of this world" version of the planet Saturn.
24 gauge wire
3" foam ball
Acrylioc paints or Uni Posca Pens
Use your box cutter to carefully score the styrofoam ball at the seam.
Continue cutting through carefully until you have cut the ball in half.
Thread about 12-18" of wire through the eye of your tapestry needle.
Push the needle through one half of the ball.
Make a U shape with the end of the wire on the flat side of the ball. Push the end of the wire into the styrofoam.
Make a loop at the other end of your wire. This will become your hanger.
Glue the half of the ball with the wire to your CD. Since this is foam it is best to allow the glue to cool a bit before attaching.
Glue the other half on the other side of the CD.
Your planet is basically finished. All that is left to do now is color and embellish in whatever manner you like. Here I am using Uni Posca pens to color the surface.
Finally, I used some beautiful stick-on jewels to decorate.
