Supplies:
  1. One hat

Setup:

1. Choose someone to be Medusa.
2. Have Medusa place the hat on their head.
3. Have all the players scatter around the playing field.

How to Play:

1. The players (Heroes) try and remove the hat from Medusa's head. Should any Hero remove the hat without being tagged, Medusa dies, any statues unfreeze, and the game ends. However, if Medusa tags any Hero they must freeze, like a statue. Statues can not move at all, they must remain in their frozen position.
2. Play until everyone is frozen (and Medusa wins) or Medusa loses her hat (head) and the Heroes win.
3. Play as many rounds as you like, choosing a new Medusa each time.

Variations:

1. Allow statues to come back to life by having 3 Heros join hands forming a circle around the statue and rotating 1 full time around the statue. Medusa is free to tag any of them though, and because they are all holding hands, if one is frozen they all must freeze, in that ring-around-the-rosie position.

Tips:

1. For fun, cover the Medusa hat with snakes made from felt or rubber.
2. The hat must come all the way off Medusa's head for her to die; if Medusa tags the Hero in the act of removing the hat, the Hero must freeze. Only when the hat has been removed completely is Medusa dead.
