Supplies:
  1. 1 die for each team

Setup:

1. Divide group into teams (see Variations for 1 or 2 players).
2. Set a line marker for each team.
3. Set up a small table 10 to 20 feet away directly across from each line marker.
4. Place a bowl of veggies and 1 die on each table.
5. Line up teams behind their line marker.

How to Play:

1. On "Go!" the first person from each line runs up to their table and rolls the die. They must roll a one. If they roll a one right away, they place the die on the table, run back to their team, and tag the next person in line. However, if they do not roll a one, they must eat one veggie.
2. When they have finished chewing and swallowed, the player rolls the die again, repeating the process as many times as it takes to roll a one.
3. The second person to the table will need to roll a 2, the third a 3, and so on up until 6. If you have more than 6 players per team, the seventh person starts over with then number 1.
4. Each player need only eat 1 veggie per roll.
5. Play continues until everyone has rolled their number, lined up, and sat down as a team.

Variations:

1. When playing with a smaller number of players, say 1 or 2 kids at a meal, take turns working your way from 1 to 6. Players must take one bite each time they roll the wrong number. The object becomes who can get to 6 first.
2. Play with six different veggies. Number the bowls. Players roll the first number to see which veggie they eat, then rolls again to see how many pieces. In this version, each person only rolls the dice 2 times -- they are not trying to roll a certain number.
3. Use candy instead of veggies (certainly not as healthy, but it works then for other themes such as Candyland, etc.)
4. Throw in a bunny theme: have players hop from starting line to table and back again, like a bunny.

Tips:

1. Make sure the veggies are cut into small pieces.
2. Make sure the players have chewed and swallowed before running back to their team.
3. Make sure that kids don't rush too much and choke... they must swallow before each roll.
4. Have an adult in place to remind players of what number they must roll.
