Supplies Scissors Empty Cardboard Boxes - cereal, crackers, dinner mixes, etc. Setup 1. Open up your box by gently pulling apart the seams (most are held together with tabs and glue). 2. Using your scissors cut out the front, back, or side portion of your box (go for the one with most color and patterns), so that a nice rectangle or square remains. 3. Cut this into pieces (cut according to age/ability - meaning larger, easier pieces for younger folks/ smaller, more complex pieces for older folks). How to Play 1. Place all the pieces in the center of a flat area - color side up. 2. Piece by piece put the puzzle together so that it makes the original artwork of the box. Variations 1. Make a bunch of puzzles out of different boxes. Mix all the pieces in the center of a table and have each person work on a different puzzle. Race to see who can put their puzzle together first. 2. Turn the box over and draw your own artwork on the inside of the box to make your own personalized puzzle. Tips 1. If you are making more than one puzzle and mixing them up, you may want to take photos of the different fronts before you cut them up, so players can reference them. 2. Once puzzles have been put back together (and you know you're not missing any pieces) put the puzzle in a ziplock bag, and save for a rainy day.
