You Will Need ...
  1. Tin can (clean and opened)

  2. 1 balloon

  3. Scissors

  4. Decorating materials: construction paper, glue, tape, stickers, ribbons, etc.

  5. Masking tape (Optional, to protect from any sharp edges)

Step 1: 

Begin by cutting off the narrow mouth of a latex balloon, right where the round bulb part begins.

Step 2: 

If you are worried the exposed tin edges might be sharp, place masking tape or duct tape around the top of the can.

Step 3: 

Next, stretch the rounded part of the balloon over the opened top of the tin can.

Step 4: 

That's it! You can decorate the outside or just leave it as is - the ridges in the can make a wonderful scratching sound when rubbed as well.
