Step 1:

Put a dab of hot glue in the center of one stick, and place the other stick on top to form an X shape. Allow the glue to cool for a few minutes.

Step 2:

Take the end of your yarn, and place the end over the center of the sticks. Holding the end in place with one finger, wrap the yarn two or three times around the middle of both sticks.

Step 3:

Give your sticks a quarter-turn, and wrap the yarn another two or three times in the other direction. Remember, you don't want to cut your yarn off of the ball if you can help it; you will cut it at the end when you've used all the yarn you need!

Step 4:

Give your sticks another quarter-turn, and wrap the yarn two to three more times. Give the sticks one last turn, and wrap once again. You should now have wrapped the yarn going in every direction possible, locking your yarn in place at the center of your sticks.

Step 5:

Now you're ready to weave! You'll be wrapping the yarn around the sticks ONE AT A TIME from now on. Take your yarn and wrap it around your first stick.

Step 6:

Give your stick frame a quarter-turn, then wrap it around the second stick. Always turn in the same direction, and be sure to take your yarn to the outside of the yarn that's already there.

Step 7:

As you weave, you'll see a diamond form around your sticks! The back of your God's Eye should start to look like this.

Step 8:

If you like, you can tie off your yarn around a stick and cut it off, then tie a new piece around the same stick and continue weaving. This allows you to create stripes of different colors on your God's Eye!

Step 9:

To tie off the yarn, place your finger along one of the sticks, wrap the yarn around your stick and finger, then tuck the yarn between the stick and your finger. Pull the yarn through and pull it tight. If you wish, give it a second knot for more security.

Step 10:

Now your God's Eye is ready to hang! Hang it in the window, or string several together to form a mobile!

Step 11:

If you want, you can make a three-stick God's Eye. Just glue three sticks together as shown in the picture...

Step 12:

... And then weave using the same method described above.

Step 13:

Create God's eyes in different sizes and colors, and hang them up to enjoy!
