Here's a perfectly sweet way to dress up a table! Create candy topiaries for your next candy-themed event -- they make perfect centerpieces and seating cards, and offer your guests a take-home treat!
Candy assortment, especially gummies
Stick pins (with balls on the end)
Small flower pot (or small cup)
Play dough (see below for recipe) or air-dry clay
Small dowel or stick or pencil, colored green if possible (plant stakes work great)
Cut your dowel to about 5" long.
Stick the playdough into the flower pot. If you want to make your own play dough, click here for our amazing recipe.
Stick your dowel upright into the play dough in the center of your pot or cup.
Stick the styrofoam ball onto the top of dowel.
Stick a pin through a piece of candy, then stick the pin into the styrofoam ball.
Continue pinning candy to your ball until it is covered, and has turned into a sweet, beautiful candy topiary!
Be aware, play dough can sometimes crack as it dries. Air-dry clay does not usually have this problem.
These candy topiaries are great to make at a party, especially if it's candy-themed! I set up a table for kids to come up and decorate to their hearts' content!
