Step 1:

Prepare four strips of green duct tape 14 inches long, four strips of your accent duct tape 14 inches long,  a small section of red tape, 3.5 inches long x 1 inch wide, and two small green strips 3 inches x 1/2 inch.

Step 2:

Place one strip of green tape sticky side up on your work surface. Take your second strip and lay on top leaving a pinky-width strip of sticky exposed on both sides.

Step 3:

Fold one of the sticky edges up and seal just below the bottom edge of the other sticky edge.  This will make a small tube with one strip of sticky exposed. Do this for all of the 14 inch strips.

Step 4:

Trim any excess off the ends of the strips.

Step 5:

Next you want to create fringe on each of the "tubes".  Cut each tube into small pieces (each about 1/4 inch in width).

Step 6:

For simplicity sake's you can cut the strips into small pieces about 4 inches long. This process may take as long as 30 minutes but once done, the fun begins!)

Step 7:

When finished you will have approximately 48 pieces.

Step 8:

Place your first fringe onto the cone securing it with the sticky strip (A) leave about a pinky width overhanging the bottom of the cup.  Add your next piece by overlapping the next piece.  Continue around the base of the cone.  Pinch the pieces together as you work your way around the cup (B).

Step 9:

I like to use opposite colors of duct tape for variety.  Place the next row of squares above the first. And again, use your pinky as your measurement when you overlap.

Step 10:

To add a little hanger, take your strip of red tape and create a fold over strip. (Flip tape over sticky side up and fold in thirds)

Step 11:

Use your green or red pre-cut strips of duct tape to secure (A) and wrap around (B) your loop over the top of your tree.

Step 12:

Layer the remaining fringe pieces over the hanger and complete the tree.

Step 13:

Take your last strip of red or green duct tape and wrap around the top.

Step 14:

If you have embellishments, apply them all around the tree.

Step 15:

All done :)
