Personalized House Slippers

- Plain pair of flip-flops (at least 1 per child)
- Hot glue gun
- Felt
- Scissors
- Ruler (optional)
- Marker
Fuzzy and warm, house slippers are a fun craft for many different occasions. Not only are they enjoyable to make at home, on a rainy day, or at a slumber or spa party, they can be used every day! Take a pair of plain flip-flops and turn them into a pair of house slippers that you'll wear for years to come.

Begin by cutting the felt. Each strip should be about 6 inches long and 1 inch wide. You can cut as many of these as you like, in any color or variety of colors you want.

Next, make the fuzzy bottom of your slippers. Take a flip-flop and place it on top a felt piece. Trace around the flip-flop.

Using your scissors, cut out the traced flip-flop shape.

Lay it over the top of the shoe to make sure it is about the same size. Any bit that looks too big can be snipped off.

Keep the felt tracing on top of the flip flop. Using your scissors, cut a slit in the felt where the toe separator is. (By leaving the felt on top of the shoe, you'll know exactly where the toe separator begins and ends.)

Glue the felt to the footbed of the flip-flop. Hot glue works best, but make sure an adult is around to help and supervise so no fingers end up burnt.

For your last step, take all those felt strips you made in the beginning and start decorating! Place the first strip at the top of the thong strap and tie it into a knot. Pull tight!

Repeat until the entire strap is covered, and then move on to the next side.

Once the felt strips are as fuzzy as can be, trim them if you need to. You can also glue on some sequins or jewels to make them even fancier!

Now that is one fancy pair of house slippers!
