I have a confession to make. As I write these words I am TERRIFIED!!!
I’m also extremely excited. Filled with anticipation. Energized...and can’t wait to get started. But at my core, I have to admit that I haven’t been this scared since I was very young.
You may wonder what has caused such trepidation. Am I about to go white water rafting? Cross the desert on a camel? Jump out of an airplane? Take Sophie's World public? Oh no, nothing as crazy as that. I’m simply embarking on teaching a 10-webisode class for Curious.com on making prom dresses out of duct tape! You heard me. Prom dresses...out of duct tape! What was I thinking?
I’m really stoked about teaching the class. The challenge is in the way our video shoots are structured. Because of budgets and time, we basically have 1 eight hour day to shoot about 2 hours of video. As Eli, our Director of Photography pointed out, that's the equivalent of a feature film. It’s a little nerve wracking.
I have an amazing video crew working with me. My sister Freda has created some of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen. So why am I so nervous?
I think it all boils down to the fact that I am really passionate about teaching and I just want to do it right.
I'll keep you posted as we finish the class and the dresses. I know in my heart they will be incredible. I just wish it wasn't beating so quickly.
