One of the things that’s been very exciting about our website and YouTube channel is the number of questions I get from viewers abroad. One of the most common is: Where can I find duct tape? Now, since I live in California and don’t get to travel as much as I’d like, this is a difficult question to answer. However, here are a couple of suggestions for those who find themselves in that never-ending search for the elusive duct tape...

Duct tape is an awesome craft supply -- no one is denying that! But let’s face it, it’s an expensive product. If I told you how much I spend on duct tape each year, you’d pass out! But the kids (and adults) love it, so I keep using it! But keeping in mind that not everyone has a big budget for tape, I’d like to offer up some ideas to help you stretch your duct tape farther. When it comes to phone apps, I think that they’re pretty cool, but I often don’t have the time to explore the vast array available. However, when my nephew Eric came to visit, I realized how useful a trip to the “app store” could be! Eric and I were sightseeing, and of course, what trip to San Francisco is complete without a ride on the cable car? However, that fun adventure was accompanied by a very long wait in line, which can be quite tedious with a fourteen-year-old! But thanks to the App Store on my iPhone, we were kept thoroughly entertained by using apps to turn pictures of ourselves into zombies and aliens. I can now see how many a parent has turned to the app marketplace to keep their kids from climbing out of their seats on plane rides and the like!

But even more than that, there are amazing apps out there that can help a caregiver of an overly artistic kid get organized!
